Hi, I did some searching and didn't find anything exhaustive. I have an 05 Laredo and yesterday, out of the clear blue, my remote didn't unlock the doors. I manually unlocked the door, and got in to let in my fiance on the other side, and the unlock button didn't work either.
I didn't think about it because the ac was on since it was almost 90 here, but this morning I thought to check the power windows... which also are not working.
Seems there is some type of control module in the door, plus the option of the whole main switch being bad... I don't want to just go around changing parts for the sake of it.
I'll check the fuses when I get home today, but per the manual, windows are doorlocks are on different fuses.
Also, additional information: upon further inspection neither the seat controls or sunroof controls are working either... so I don't know if there is a circuit that controls all of that stuff or not, but damn this is quickly becoming a larger problem than I had originally thought.
Check your powers and grounds - also try re-seating the plugs at control modules and wiring harness connection points (on my '07 there are a couple above the drivers left kick panel). I would assume your '05 has a CAN bus - check these connections as well. You may need to drop by a dealer and get a diagnostic scan to check for body system fault codes.
I hate to bump an old thread, but for the sake of problem resolution for anyone searching, one of the wires underneath the driver's seat had worn bare. It had blown an under hood fuse. For further follow up, later on, the same wire wore bare again, and this time, the fuse didn't blow, but it wore through some wires, and the UConnect, power pedals, and power seat were all affected. It looks like it could have been a common problem because the wiring wasn't reinforced. I replaced the worn section and wrapped it in electrical tape and surrounded it with plastic conduit. Problem solved, and hopefully for good.
