Portable winch 4xGuard Matrix?

I am thinking about installing the 4xGuard matrix on my 2009 Overland. One set up has a place for a portable winch. How viable is the idea of a portable winch? How heavy are they? Thanks.

I have the Matrix with the front hitch. It 's very secure. There was one clown on JF a while back who posted a bunch of vids using a winch on the Matrix. (Can't think of the name) Works well though. I'm sure someone will chime in with his name or a link.

I think you're talking about Gary. His screen name was Viper2000gts I think. He has a number of videos on YouTube from Rausch Creek and the Pine Barrens where he's using the Matrix with a portable winch.

4xguard has a picture on their site under the photogallery for the matrix that shows the setup.

Negative, other than i can think of very few usefull applications for doing that and not just pulling it out. Maybe if the trail takes a 90 and you don't want to block to a tree you could use that setup?
