I am about to order a 2006 Jeep Commander from Indiana - supposedly it has a pinstriping kit on it - does anyone have a Commander with this additional option - if so, can you post a picture so that I could see what it looks like.
I don't think that is an available option. It was probably added by the dealer. You know, they add accessories and put the "extra" window sticker on it.
I've not heard of that as a manufacturer option, and haven't yet seen it done at a local dealer.
Be sure and check carefully to make sure you like it, and also how much they want to gouge you for it. Don't be afraid to push back some on it. There is probably a hefty markup...
There is a good markup on them. Personally I don't care for them as they are just hard to wax over, and eventually show their age. On one new car years ago, I told the dealer I wanted it taken off, and they did so, and took it off the invoice. Obviously it was cheap on their part.
I had the dealer swap the Chrome limited wheels for the brushed aluminum and give me a partial credit.
The power is in the hands of the buyer. Nice job Grogie!
There should be plenty of Commanders available, so just tell them you will try to find one without pinstriping if they want to gouge you for it, and you're not fond of it.
Stuff will happen when they think they might lose a deal. They are willing to give up a couple hundred here and there, heck they are still making at least a couple grand.
Here's a pic if you scroll in you can see the pin striping right above the turn signal then contiues right above the door handles. You can't see it but right above the door handles we had them add Jeep. The dealer through the pinstriping in on mine and I like it.
i think the anniversaries all come with a pin stripe
there was no charge extra on mine and they all seemed to have it.
