Passenger Seat Belt - Buzzer???

Hi Folks
I noticed something that bothers me. A couple of times my wife has not hooked up her seat belt and we are driving with no indication on the Dash or a buzzer - nothing. Is that normal for the Jeeps? My 96 GC would give me an indication. In the future I will make sure to check her for the seat .
thanks
Bill

PS: Most vehicles also indicate if the Passenger Airbag is ON or OFF – Jeep does not..

hmmm.....take it in cause mine goes crazy if you unhook your belt. The seat sensor will need calibrated on the airbag thingy.

yes.....my wife has taken hers off to tend to the toddler and it goes nuts right away with the chimes.....you probably got a bad sensor.

The WK does as well. If you put a backpack or something that has a little weight in the passenger seat it will light the indicator on the dash showing that the passenger side airbag is off. However, it is linked to your passenger seat's weight sensor that appears to not be working properly.

Unless your wife weighs about 15 pounds, I think something's amiss!

Hi Folks
Took the jeep to the dealer - guess what? The Passenger’s seat is overridden by the driver side. Once the driver hooks up his seat belt, there is no indication if the passenger’s seat is hooked or not hooked. I did not believe them so they had a new 07 GC overland in the lot and I sat in the passenger’s seat - after driver's belt was hooked, no indication with me sitting in the passenger’s seat without the seat belt. I believe this is different from the 05 or 06s - Jeep is trying to save a nickel at the expense of our safety .
Thanks
Bill

Yeah, my 06 definitely isn't like that. That is weird.
