Parts for GC WK 3.0 CRD?!

Hi All,

I've got a mechanic currently doing the dreaded Oil cooler leak, but I need some parts... as Mercedes can't just take my Reg No.

The one I'm stuck on is the 2 x Exhaust Gasket for Turbo to Exhaust Manifolds - the only part I can find is Exhaust Manifold to Exhaust Collector Gasket L/s & R/S and also 3 bolt hole gaskets - I can't find these anywhere.

UPDATE: 3 Bolt hole gasket = Turbocharger Gasket! 2 to go!

Any one got any clues?

Cheers!

I'm currently doing the oil cooler seal repair myself. I bought a kit that has all the needed parts. The collector gasket numbers are 6421423180 for the left and 6421423280 for the right side.

If you're in the UK - ring up Newcastle Mercedes, they have an eBay shop where they sell literally everything for the OM642, so they'll be able to help you out.

I'm currently putting my CRD back together after replacing those damned orange oil seals! Your friend is right, it IS a lot of work!
But with my case, it gave me a change to do some upgrades, like swirl valve removal, gasket matching the intake manifold ports and installing a rebuilt turbo.
Oh, and cleaning out the intake manifolds! I could not believe the amount of thick oily sludge that had accumulated inside them! I'll probably gain 2 MPG just because it can breathe better now!

I had all of this done on mine already.

Did you guys get any issues after? I've had a few - but it's time to change the alternator. I'll get the splash guard that's in the TSB.

No issues with the EGR or Swirl full deletes. I am tuned with GDE, so that was already gone anyways. I did get the simulator plugs from CBE just in case anyways.
The splash guard is for the sloppy people missing the oil fill hole when pouring the oil. Use a nice sized funnel and no issues with oiling the alternator then.

I'm thinking of maybe doing a remap - what do you guys think?

The Alternator got oil in from the filler cap being upside down.......... And probably a sloppy oil change.

Does it have the stock tune now? You can't go wrong with the Green Diesel Engineering tunes.
I just swapped out my alternator and added the shield. It's way to easy to make a mistake or have the cap gasket leak and drip onto the alternator, to not have that shield be worth the install!
