P0088 DTC High Pressure on CRD

I have been having issues with my CRD since my fuel tank was replaced. There is a chance that tainted fuel was introduced by mechanic (denied of course) but i get DTC P0088 randomly and vehicle limps until a restart. usually happens when i take my foot off accelerator after having it to the floor (heavy acceleration). My guess is its one of 2 things, either the rail pressure sensor or the regulator in the high pressure pump.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
It can go 2 days with no ETC and DTC and sometimes 3 times in a day, ETC always goes out after a restart

frustration

Thanks

Was the fuel filter replaced? Could be a quick easy place to start, if it wasn't.

Hi. System has been bled and flushed twice. Forgot to mention getting P0088 and P0087 code. Had been going on and off almost 3 weeks. No pattern
