So was letting someone use my 08 Commander with the 4.7 and it overheated. She didn't know I guess that when the temperature gauge goes all the way to H you need to stop and shut it down. So anyway I'm not really sure how far it was driven overheated but at some point the gauge went all the way to C I assume this is because it ran out of coolant and had nothing to read. So she pulled over and shut it off and then it would not restart which I think was a good thing. When I got there It had cooled enough to start and it sounded fine so I had to towed in. It had a bad water pump that I had replaced. So it runs fine I don't hear any noises or anything and it has good power. My question is am I likely to have future engine problems because of this or would I likely already have them if it had done damage?

If anything, your head gaskets may let go at some point or a head may continue to warp or crack if it were already on the way after this. Either way, you'll definitely know when any of that happens.
You can do compression and leak down tests to make sure everything's in spec now. Monitor for mixing of fluids (oil/coolant) and watch the coolant level for a while. If all that stays normal, I'd just drive it.

Did they perform a block test? That would indicate a blown head gasket. Idk why it would go back to C as if it didn't have coolant that hot "air" would be hotter than the coolant. When an engine has air bubbles it can read very hot when it really isn't due to the steam bubbles in the system

Well I took it on a 500 mile trip and it seems to be running good. I really don't know how hot it had gotten but it just hit 104K miles.
