Opinion on a coolant flush

Hi, I'm at 80k miles right now. The local dealership is having a 50$ flush and fill special. Should I do this or wait until the water pump dies to have the coolant changed?

that's cheap. Consider asking them for a price to change the water pump at the same time and also the t-stat. Nothing wrong doing it before it fails. At 80K it will likely fail at some point

For a 2010, you're about due for a coolant change anyway. It's 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Assuming yours was built in '09 it should have new coolant sometime this summer or fall.

At $50 it's practically a no-brainer. I agree with JKM asking about the t-stat; they don't last forever, and it's a lot less work to do it while the coolant's out. That should save you some labor fees.

I'm guessing that $50 bucks is for one gallon of coolant, so double check with dealer.

Me as well since I just found out too. It takes just over 3 gallons to do the flush on the radiator. 50$ would be a steal for labor and parts from the dealer.
