Once you go "diesel" you never come back!

One CRD thing led to another, long story short... 3 days ago I got a hold of 06 VW Touareg V10 TDi. Sweet package, every possible option, 18K miles... I simply could not resist the thought of 310hp @ 550ft/lb of torque

Man, you're a lucky SOB.

I've seen a few for sale, but they were WAY expensive. It would be unreal to have that much tug on tap.

CRD is going on sale tomorrow, already made up eBay auction. Prices on them are very pleasant right now, will see what I get out of it.

So what are your initial impressions of the Touareg V10 TDI? I'm curious to hear. Never driven one. Impressive, I'm sure. I've always felt the housing around the base of the front seats really gets in the way. My only other real pick at Touaregs, as with all VWs, is the cheap rubber painted coating on the interiors that peels off of everything(that goes for some Audis as well)... Door panels, center consoles, dashes, buttons, etc. Hope yours ages well. That's one of the things I like about Grand Cherokees. I think the interior panels should age relatively well. Is there room to mount a CCV filter on the Touareg and do you think it will be necessary? Best of luck!

I have not gotten it yet, it is still in Houston at local Toyota dealership. Will have her here end of the week and will post some pics. Moreover, I have never driven one of those, got it exclusively based on other people's raving opinions. Also found out that these are surprisingly reliable and well put together. So we shall see what originally $75K automobile can do for yours truly here.
People at club touareg say these get 22mpg, if this is true, why not spend my 22mpg on nearly twice more fun

No, I have it, along with all original brackets and decals.
Will sell it after the Jeep is sold, do not want to do it before.

Mish,

I checked out your Ad on eBay. Very nicely done. You've already got some action on it, too. You should get good money out of it with that Ad. You ought to be in marketing or sales. Wholesale prices continue to rise on these from what I have witnessed recently due to the supply of the last few new ones drying up. Glad I got mine when I did. Where did you say you purchased your Startech/Brabus box and how much did it cost? Can you order in the States or do you have to go abroad? I think I remember researching it in the past and it was REALLY pricey...

Thank you for your kind words.

I purchased my brabus box by chance on eBay, from dealer in UK. This kit was made for E320 CDI, but the only difference I was told is in mounting bracket for under the hood. I installed mine under the dash, to keep it cooler.
Brabus / MB want to charge around $3K for this kit, but I paid around $1500.

Nice ride and it is silver..the best color for a car...is that based on the same platform as the Cayenne?

I hate seeing guys tie down vehicles likes that...it is not proper.

Keep us up to date on she does...do not leave us for the VW forum...

you might want to get that exhaust looked at. from the pics there look so be some funky flat spots. might just be my eyes but i would make sure you have good flow. Aero muffler out east has done some work for me and they have been great. I have also used a shop at high and 104 and those guys seemed good also
