What ever u decide It will be nice you have yet to do something that would make the jeep worse then how the factory did them. I dont think you have done 1 thing yet without perfection. Anyone who disagrees wouldn't still be crawling on your build thread. Lol the basket without deflector might work and look alright. You could have a section cut out with the light behind it but leave the pice there on a hinge and when u want the light on just open it like a vent or kinda like a throttle body,

Just from looking at it, how strong will it be with out the top rail. You need to make some kind of structure under it to accommodate the missing top rail wouldnt you?

Thanks guys! I am still not sure if I am really going to be converting it into a "Dave Rack" but I will be sure to post up progress pics if I do. If I go through with my plans I will probably hold onto the top tube so I can make a second rack out of it to sell Structurally I think it will be fine since I will have that heavy duty grating welded to the top. I will also add a couple of cross tubes over the sunroof too. So we shall see.

A bit of good new, I have another project that should be completed tomorrow!

But if I did that it wouldn't be worth much if anything! Using it to make a whole new one will help me fund my Bison fund.

yeah but me getting a dirt cheap start to a sweet roof rack is a hair more important than the bison fund.

Hi omelet, did you install the superlift preload spacer? And how much height do you think this give?

Except for the crazy price of shipping a large bulky item!

No I left the plate out, the modified HD coils where going to be plenty stiff on their own. Right now I am 25" hub-fender.

So I've read up to page 30 and no one has asked, so I will. How does your wife let you buy all the goodies? Mine would have revoked my privileges after page 4 or 5. Ha. Awesome build thread and awesome machine. That skid you fabbed up is wicked.
