As I am sure you could guess, the LED Rock Lights are next! I am not going to bother re-posting the whole build which can be found HERE, so I will sum it up.

I took this:

Cut it up into pieces and wired them in under the Jeep like this:

To get this:

All for under $50!

Then I wired them into the interior lights so they come on when you unlock or open a door. So now they are Courtesy light, Rock lights, and work lights!

Now for a little more fun time with Jake! I headed out to Rock Front again to enjoy a little mild wheeling.

Now for my custom made badge! I had a buddy that was de-badging his Ram 1500 so I acquired them. I got 2 of these:

With that I made a Mopar badge! I used the R, A, M, and the 0 (zero). Then I took the second R and cut the front leg off it so it was a P. I panted it up with the graphite paint I had been using and slapped them on the back in place of the Jeep badge.

I thought it turned out pretty sweet!

^^^ I agree. The "MOPAR" is a sweet badge - good job with that one.

I decided to help out my front struts and instal some Limiting Straps. These are to take the force of the suspension as it comes to an abrupt full drop while wheeling instead of the strut taking the abuse. The build thread can be found HERE.

Basically I took this:

And did this:

Thanks Guys! It is easy enough to make. The hard part is finding a good deal on used badges, because you don't want to pay for new ones ($$$).

Of course I had to take her out and test the new straps! So I hooked up with some locals and hit Pancake Rock. The trail report can be found HERE, but I will share some of my favorite shots.

And a couple of vids!

I applaud you sir. I've built some serious rock crawling rigs in my day out of the 90's cherokee and yj's and in two weeks I will be the happy owner of an 05 4.7, its great to see the potential of my investment.

Oh ya! That was the rear guard. If it wouldn't have been there I am sure the bumper would have been left behind!

It is hard to see, but it is bent pretty good. Every one of my other skids were used that day too.

Thanks Bud! These aren't the ideal rock rigs, but they get the job done and with a little flare too Congrats on your new WK! Is it QT2 or QD2?

Looks like you get to repaint your skid! Nice thread though, it's nice to be able to drool over everything you've done to your WK in one spot!
