Great writeup!

I found these on ebay a few weeks ago, and hope they arrive soon. A co-worker pointed me to JF to see if anyone else had thought of this, it looks great. Now I know what to expect with the install. Good job.

Edit: BTW, where did you get the switches with the cool labels?

Nope, not yet. I have been busy on other things. I still have those pieces sitting there waiting for me though. I just need to find time to do it. I just got finished touching up all my skids!

Ya good luck with those things! I am trying to stay on top of all my scratches so I don't have any major rust build up.

unfortunately the LED's in those positions would make them "underglow" not Rock Lights.
Rock Lights are mounted on the inside of the wheel wells not rockers and front n rear.

While I understand what you are getting at by this, Omelets setup is most definiately rock lights. Why does the position of the lights change the definition? I've seen plenty of actual rock lights not mounted in the wheel wells. I would argue that the purpose of the lights is what defines them. And I find Omelets setup far superior to traditional rock lights in its durability and light coverage.

Call them whatever you want! I use them for Rock/Work Lights. I don't drive around town like a ricer! Like mentioned above, why does the location change the name? Where mine are located I can easily see everything under the armor.

Would you call roof mounted or rear mounted AUX. lighting headlights? or calling a side window a windsheild?
same basic principle, position makes the difference for rock lights, the effectiveness from position to position is debatable...
but all in all, they both work and i suppose that's all that matters

thats not true.

Rock lights are mounted wherever they can be on the rig to light up the rocks underneath the rig.

how many buggies have lights in the wheel wells only do you think

I do plan on putting some of these in my front wells, but there is no room in my rear wells for them so they are going in front of the gas tank.

Wait, I'm confused. You're arguing my side of the argument... A piece of glass on the front of the vehicle is a windshield as apposed to a piece of glass on the side is just a window... They are named for their purpose not what they are composed of

why would there be rock lights on a buggy? they don't even have fenders to cover the tires, visibility isn't a problem

and way to be a dick when everyone on else was cool and level headed about this.
