Oil spray/leak crd

Yesterday I had a great pleasure of replacing the Alternator, a lot of swearing went on.

But while I was underneath the vehicle on the left side front of the engine everything was sprayed with oil, it does not come from the front seal, that was bone dry, it was more in the area where the air conditioner compressor was.

Anyone know where that oil could come from?

I went to the carwash washed it down, and hopefully figure out where that oil comes from.

Possibly from the compressor itself? My compressor is leaking and my AC drains down after a few months. There is a national backorder for AC pumps right now from the dealership. This most likely signifies that they are redesigning the pumps. You can get a rebuilt pump from an auto parts store, but I'm waiting one from the stealership. Simply dye test would confirm

Hopefully it is not your oil cooler. Check you oil level. The oil cooler will leak into the bay on the top of the engine and then runs though a channel to that area. It's a big job to fix the little O-rings on the oil cooler when they leak.

I don't think it is the compressor, as it is all engine oil.
