OEM Spare tire winch

so im wondering if anyone may be selling theirs or not using theirs? i know a couple guys are running their spares on their roofs, on a hitch carrier or in their trunk as its too large to get underneath.

mine took a crap so im looking for one- a new one is like $170, which is ridiculous. its 3 bolts... anyone plan on removing theirs? let me know.

Mine did the same a while back. Took it out and found the cable was kinked, rusted, just a rats nest..........

My plan was to check a local salvage yard that I've picked up a few things I've needed. Just haven't called them yet - check with one around you.

I never have liked the winch up spare tire stowage ever since I almost got nailed by a spare tire that fell off a guy's pickup truck in front of me when his cable let go.

I just go without the spare and carry a plug kit and 12volt air pump. If I was going on a wilderness Jeep safari I would winch up my old factory spare but I just don't see the point of carrying a spare where tire repair service is just a phone call away.
