me and my good buddy go wheeling. he has a 2011 taco, and it does quite well on the trail. not sure exactly the difference in what you have and what he has, though.

Hello! I may be returning to the world of WK's! it's been a weird few months for me and cars. Sold the tacoma because I got a job that required a lot of commuting and bought a used Jetta. Not a big fan of the Jetta, and have a new job that doesnt have a commute. Im looking at an 05 limited with the 4.7.

Glad to hear you might be coming back. I would def look into a Hemi or take your time and try to find a CRD. Its amazing how much prices have been dropping around the Denver-Metro area. What are your plans this time around?

I'm still on the fence about the Hemi. I like the more simplistic 4.7, plus the one I'm looking at is a steal of a deal. I drove the Hemi and although yes there is a of power the 4.7 seems to be OK. But the having a HEMI..... as you can see my mind is not made up. The other obvious benefit is QDII. As far as plans it would probably end up similar to my last one, except I would go OME + a bit more in the rear. A crd would be really nice, but prices are still a little high. Jvenrick, how many miles do you have on your 4.7?

4.7 has a complex overhead cam design while the hemi is a pushrod motor but has mds and dual plugs. I wouldn't say either is more complex than the other. Get the hemi!

if I could have I would have gotten a hemi and QDII but only if the price is right. That being said, Nitro Gear supposedly has 4.10 gears for the WK which will make the 4.7 (or hemi for that matter) act more like stock on the road. The 4.7 is a good reliable engine in my experience and one of my friends put a rod through the block on his hemi Durango, but that might just be his luck.

OK OK OK I've decided to wait for the right HEMI to come along. Not sure when that will be, but I'm not in a huge rush. Rest assured within the next few months I'll be enjoying all the HEMI has to offer.

Awesome! You won't regret the HEMI. I found mine with only 47k on it and it's running great now with 86k and getting about 16.5 mpg to/from work.

. Jvenrick, how many miles do you have on your 4.7?[/QUOTE]

Mine just rolled over 60k and still going strong. Don't get me wrong I love the 4.7, and like ratchet said with the new gears coming out that will be a huge improvement on power to the wheels. But for the prices of hemi's with the qdll that i have seen around here, there is no question, that's what I'd be looking at if I was currently in the market.
