New wk lift options

Hi guys,

I am new here as I just purchased a 2005 jeep wk limited hemi. I just have a few questions regarding lifts and I have already searched, but my questions were not answered. I do not really want to get wheel spacers. Do the JBA arms eliminate or improve the bolt clearance issue? I would like to fit 32" or 33" tires on stock wheels. These are my options assuming the jba arms improve bolt clearance.

1. rough country 2", jba arms, bilstein front and MLL's in rear

2. OME HD with MLL's in rear

3. Rock crawler x factor lift with bilstein front and MLL's in rear

which would you guys recommend? Pros and Cons? Cost?

what tires are available in these sizes for the 17" wheels?

Also, what is the offset of the srt8 wheels for this body style? I saw a picture of a wk with 33's and the srt8 wheels and it looked really good. What would I need to clear a 285/55r20? its 11.2" wide.

That jeep looks dope. I love the SRT rims and have always wondered what they would look like with a lift.

I would really appreciate any help with deciding on lifts. Do the jba arms improve bolt clearance? How much lift would it take to clear those tires on the srt8 and what is the offset on them? I am new here and need advice.

All 17x7.5" Wheels: Backspacing = 6.25" Offset = 50.8mm Bolt pattern = 5x5 (5x127mm)

20" SRT8 Wheels: Offset = 34.75mm (front) 50mm (rear) Bolt pattern = 5x5 (5x127mm)

lots of information: wkjeeps.com / http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_wheels.htm

Thanks for the info! Which srt8 wheel offset would be better for not having spacers?

I would be so bold as to assume that you won't be off-roading if you are going to a 20" rim with a shallow sidewall tire. I have a 2" lift (RC budget boost, 17"x 9" UltraWheel rim with a 4.75" BS (+12mm Offset), 265-70-17 (32") tires with very little rubbing (front or rear), have not done the PS or Rear Fender mod yet). I have stock struts in front but did add the MLLs (for F-150) in the rear which greatly improved flex (sway bars removed) and it now sits at 21.5" front and rear, nice and level. I have no clearance issues with the upper ball joint stud, actually looks like I have more clearance than stock and considering going to 285-70-17s(33") soon.

Your tires are 10.4 inches wide and the ones I am looking at would be 11.2 inches wide and 2 tenths of an inch taller. The srt8 wheels I am looking at would be 20x9 and have +35mm offset. Would I need a 0.5" spacer? I don't want my tires to stick too far out of the fender. I would like 22" at the front fender to hub and 22.5-23" at the rear fender to hub for a slight rake. What will I need to get there? I will be doing little to no offroading, just gravel roads. I want to put new shocks on anyways front and rear. My thoughts are RC 2" lift + bilstein in front and MLL f150 in rear. What else can I do for the front and rear? Can the rustys spacers or rocky road spacers be used in conjunction with the RC lift? If I could use the JBA arms in front for more clearance instead of going higher I would do that as well.

Someone with a 32 x 11.2 inch tire setup I would really appreciate your input.

Ok I just used a backspacing and offset calculator. Going from a 17x7.5 +50.8mm offset and 245/65r17 to a 20x9 +35mm offset and 285/55r20 will be an increase of 2.8 inches in diameter, the tires will be 0.16 inches farther inside the wheel well, and be 1.31 inches farther outside of the wheel well. I will need a 0.25 inch wheel spacer. Where can I find a quality wheel spacer? spidertrax does not carry 0.25 inch spacers from what I can see.

Also, I am currently at 18" hub to fender front and 18.5" hub to fender rear. So I will need roughly 4" front and 3" rear of lift. What is the best way to get there with replacing shocks front and back?
