New Owner..REF Radio/Aux Port questions

Hello everyone, new owner/new to the forums...just picked up a 3.7 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee a few weeks ago for a daily driver.

I have the REF model radio with an aux port on the face...I was wondering if there was a way to plug an iPod into this port to be able to play the music on the device thru the vehicle speakers?

Thanks.

Yep, that's what it's intended for. You can connect anything that has audio to the aux jack. You just need to get yourself a 3.5mm patch cord from radio shack or any other electronics store. (Amazon has them for $2).

Personally I think true integration with charging is the only way to go. Too much distortion when you amplify the headphone output. But for a couple bucks at least you can quickly hook the phone up with the aux jack. Then you need to play with the volume on the phone to find the optimum level for clarity.
