New girl jeep owner

Go easy on me guys! I'm new to Jeeps, and new to forums! My fiance told me I should join one to learn more about my car. Today, I just bought a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Laredo 4x4; I pick it up on Wednesday the 4th! And I cant wait!

I love the look of it, and how it drives. My fiance is a Toyota guy, and has a Toyota Tacoma 4x4. He wanted me to get a Toyota 4runner, but he likes the Jeeps too and we got a really good deal on it. Anyways, I have been looking around here and I like how a lot the Grand Cherokees on here look when they are lifted up! They look tough! I think in time I will get mine lifted up too.

Anyways, as a new Jeep owner, what should I look for, or have my fiance look for, once we pick it up in terms of common issues, or maintenance things we should do right away? My Jeep has 90,000 miles on it btw. Again I'm new, and not sure what to ask, but any advice would be appreciated!

Oh, and my fiance just told me I should ask if the stock 2007+ Wrangler Rubicon wheels and tires will fit on my Grand Cherokee. He thinks he can find a set for cheap and they would look cool if they would fit!

Thanks!

Here is a picture of the Jeep I bought:

Welcome to the forum! The 2007+ rims will fit as long as they are 17" but you will most likely need at least a .25" spacer for them. As for maintenance things if you don't know its history you should do a complete tuneup. Change engine oil/filter,tranny oil/filters, differential fluids, transfer case fluid, spark plugs, and check the air filter

Ok, thanks for the tip on the wheels! We don't know the history, and the dealer is going to do a few things for us before we pick it up, such as change the oil I think, and get a new state inspection. I will let my fiance know about the other things you said.

ok, its not diesel! I just looked at my paperwork, it says 3.7L V6 SOHC 12V. It doesn't say anything about the 4x4, other than it is 4x4...

If you do a lot of driving be prepared for less than average MPG out of that full time 4x4 but hey....who buys a Jeep for gas mileage? :-)

Well, as far as engine upgrades, you're very limited. Not much out there and what is is more expensive than the others. The suspension and brakes are just like any other Jeep, whatever is available should work on your Jeep.

The stock wheels and tires might fit with some spacers mentioned above, but they would rub pretty bad. So you would want that lift kit you were talking about
