Just wanted to say hello on this side of the forum. My name is Ben and i have gone from the TJ forum to the XJ forum, and just traded the wifes G6 in for a commander. Its a 2006 with a the anniversary badges in and on it, 4.7, auto, 4x4, tow package, sun roof, sky lights, back up assist, 48,000 miles and clean as new inside and out. just wanted to see if there is anything i need to look out for with this or any minor mods that anyone can recommend to me to improve ride/ appearance. also does the 4.7 respond to intake and exhaust better then the 4.0 as far as gas mileage goes?

congrats on your new Jeep, you will love it, I got a 4.7 as well, as far as mods I would recommend a K&N intake, Gibson cat back, a lift and bigger tires, there is lots of info here on all those mods.

Skip an entire catback - the Commander already has a 2.75" exhaust. Just replace the muffler and add a resonator to control drone. You'll save 50% as compared to the catback and have better results. PM me if you'd like more information.

Going by what I can see on the pic, I would guess that in order to install that mount, you just remove the dash face, drill a hole on the top compartment, and use a screw and a nut.

I'm looking for something similar for my wife. What is a good deal on a Commander like this?

It's really hard to say. Regional prices and vehicle options vary.
I've always surfed through AutoTrader.com for a couple of months to get a pretty good idea of asking price in my area.

That's what I'm doing right now. Figured I'd ask the forums sharks who have already figured it out first...
