New (again) '08 CRD owner - hi!

Greetings all! We just picked up a new to us '08 CRD for my wife and thought I better sign up and say hey instead of just lurking like I have been for a week or so. I've been drooling on the build threads and plotting how to convince the wife that she 'needs' some armour and a lift.... We'll see how that goes.

If she said yes to the CRD the rest shouldn't be too tough. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum, tons of good owners on this site and many threads about the crd. Search this forum for the word "diesel" and do reading.

Thanks all, looking forward to spending some time here.

And yeah, there is a ton of great info on here. I read A LOT of threads getting ready for the purchase. A big push to getting another diesel (after spending $1400 on my work CRD swirl issue) was finding out about the tune that eliminates that altogether.

I like to get my hands dirty so the DIY maintenance and project threads will be a huge help!

Welcome! This forum has saved me big bucks!! Nice place to be.

Make the GDE tune your first mod. You will be glad you did. Wait for the moment when you wife is complaining about the accelleration lag when pulling out into traffic then say, "Hey, I think I can fix that. Lets get a GDE tune."

My wife has not complained about lag since. It used to be a familiar song.
