Need help tracking something down

Been looking all over for a piece and cant seem to find a replacement. A few people a while back decided to break into my jeep, thankfully wasnt anything in there to take but they tried their hardest to get into the glove box, ultimately breaking the handle. Now, the only thing I can find to fix this is an entire new latch, which seems unnecessary to me since it was only the handle part that broke.

Jeep is a 2005 Grand Cherokee Laredo

You can see the part that snapped, dead center, pulls the latch down that holds the box shut,. Would it be possible to find just a replacement handle or am I going to have to spend the 40 dollars on the entire latch unit.

Thanks in advance. I havent been able to track a replacement down sadly.

Salvage yards have the entire latch listed as well and for about the same price as ebay. I guess ill just have to bite the bullet and buy the entire thing. Not really a heart breaker but I like to save a few bucks here and there when I can
