Nav update disk

I am thinking about buying a Nav update disk from Ebay. This one is for a commander, I have Grand Cherokee RER 2008. Seller has a vin number from his totaled out 2009 commander. Can someone confirm if this would install properly on my unit?

After much research, I found out that you have to buy the update from Navteq. The VIN number is written into the update disk. When you go to load the software CD, it ask for the VIN number, and everything most match what is on your unit. So if you buy something off of ebay, it will not work this I am sure of.

The 07 version doesn't need a vin

Same with my '06. Picked up a DVD update off of eBay and install was quick and easy.
