My dealership is paying for the actuator (supposedly) if not I'm raising hell because that's what they told me.

I just bought my wk last week and the dealer wants to do this "update" to it. I stupidly forgot to test the 4lo when I bought the jeep and now im afraid to test it and/or have the "update" done.

What year WK is it and how many miles are on it. Is it being covered under warranty or is it more of a complimentary thing?

One of the tip offs that there is a problem is when you start the Jeep "service 4wd System" quickly flashes where the VIC messages are displayed. It will only start yelling at you consistently though if you pull the 4wheel low shifter.

So I found my first recall paper, before the fix was made. It directly states actuator failure.

Had my actuator replaced in September. I've tested weekly and today I got the Service 4WD message again.

I called the 800# so they could document it. Looks like I'll be heading back to the dealership on Monday. I wonder what excuse they'll give me this time?

06 w/ 87k on it. They told me that Chrysler will pay them back for it because the recall is screwing up the part

Got my notice today. Most reading I've done is on this topic. Still on the fence about it? Really don't need another headache, kids and wife already give me enough brain pain

Well I had the recall done two weeks ago. Tested 4low when I got home and all was fine. I tried to use it yesterday and got the service 4wd system message. This will be a pain to deal with.

I am glad to see you are all getting such good results with the software re-write to fix a cracked PC board in the FDCM.Not getting mine done until they agree to replace the FDCM.A mechanic friend and I had a good laugh about this so called fix.He worked for Chrysler for years and told me about other stupid ways they cheaped out on other recalls.More laughs.I posted at the beginning of this thread and said I didn't think a software re-write would fix a cracked PC board.I read on a car news site that posted about Chrysler talking about a cracked PC board when this all started.
