muffler warranty ?

how long should my muffler last ,and is there a warranty on it? My jeep is only a 2008. Muffler is rotted where the tail pipe comes out.Seems like it should last more than 5yrs

I would think that it's not covered under the mfg warranty, being a wear and tare part like your brakes. Depending if where you live uses a lot of salt on the road or how you treat the truck will affect the longevity of the exhaust system.

how many miles? i know at 61k the baffles/inside of my OEM muffler was shot... spend $120 or so and get a new magnaflow muffler. a new OEM muffler cost around $700, and no im not kidding...

I remember back when I had my first car 1989 civic the exhaust was shot and they wanted 800 Bux to put a stock style system on there but I got a flow master 40 series with 2.25 piping cat back for 350 if say if your stock muffler is shot its a sign that you need a performance exhaust on there

I know our Catalytic converters have a warranty, but not about a muffler. I agree with the others, its way cheaper to put a nice aftermarket exhaust on there, go for it.
