So funny story - I'm looking for Jeep tires on Craigslist and stumble across this ad. I recognized the pictures right away and was very surprised to find out you lived in Joliet which is like 10 minutes from my house. I send a text message and was assaulted with reply texts and pictures of tires from some Mexican tire shop. Later come to find out he is “borrowing” the pictures of your Jeep to sell his tires.

What the ****? I don't know whether to feel flattered or violated. Don't understand what that pic has to do with 245/65/17s. What an idiot! Not to mention, not only is that not the right pic for the tires he's sellin, but it isn't even the best pic of my Jeep ;-) lol

Muddy that is one crazy Craigslist fraud find.

Well, yeah, I am. But other than going on the Federal Trade Commission's website and filing a complaint (which I'm sure would be followed up with and some bureaucrat would put a stop to it ) I don't really see the point in pursuing anything.

^^^This was done after I saw Muddy's post.

For now I can't even pull up Craigslist's webpage to see if it's been pulled but like I said earlier I'm not sure what to do otherwise......

Well the Craigslist b.s. is on going - other than flagging the ad repeatedly and reporting the problem to the website I'm at a loss. There is another ad running with a Jeep I recognize, can't remember where from, but the same dude is using another Jeep photo to peddle his crap.

Anyway, went to the Royals' home opener today.

Bunch of us from the department went in on a keg and food. We tailgated and then watched the Royals disappoint us with a loss but had a great time anyway.

Meanwhile, I got some stuff from the guy in the brown truck:

3' Firestick and a Cobra 19DX IV:

I got to the beginnings of the install this evening:

Once I cut the back off the cubby insert I realized I was gonna have to cut even more off to make it work:

With the Cobra unit fitted in the cubby insert I popped the assembly in to see how it would fit:

That's as far as I got tonight. I'm gonna try to run down the way to a truck stop tomorrow and get a coax cable and antenna mount items and finish out the install. I have to figure out the wiring and routing for the coax and I'll post pics of the rest when I get to it and have a chance to post it up.

Yeah, that Cobra cb fits right in the cubby nicely. The truck stop didn't have the hardware I was looking for so I think I'll have to order some more items from Amazon. How did you wire the power for the unit? Did you go through the firewall directly to the battery or just run the red wire into the fuse box?
I've been reading through the cb threads in the main page and it seems to depend on the poster.

Oh, and did you get a srw meter? Did you find it necessary?

I've been told to go straight from the batter for the power wire so there's less interference sometimes when u tap off a power lead you can hear the car accelerating.

And I have an swr meter because of your too high which I was at first it can and will damage the radio
