mercedes oil filter number for crd

Hi, i'm getting close to my first oil change, and i went to mercedes to see how much the oil filter cost.. The guy wasn't sure of the part number as he looked a little surprised that Jeep had mercedes diesel engine ??? ???
He gave me a price on a filter for 25$ (Cnd) Chrysler wants 55$ (cnd)

Does anyboby have the proper mercedes part number for the 3L CRD motor.

Also oil question.
I found that ELF Quartz INEO MC3 5w30 has the mercedes 229.51 requirements, as anyone used this oil, and what is your opinion on this product.

Thank you
Thierry

If you don't have your heart set on a Mercedes filter. The shop I work for in Edmonton buys a European line of oil filters. The brand name is Mann filters! They suppose to make filters for 90% of the oe manufacturers in Europe. The part number is HU 821X and it is the same as the Jeep ones from our Chrysler dealer. If you open the chrylser box up it has HU 821x printed on the cartridge.
Our cost for the Mann HU 821X is $10.13 plus enviro fees. We also buy a Quaker State Oil(European 5W30) that covers the MB 229.51 needed for MB diesel. Our cost when we buy it in the 1L jugs is $8.00L. We also have started buying by the barrel now at a cost of $7.19L.

Thanks for the replies guys and the part numbers.
As for the filters, i would rather use Mercedes and Chrysler filter only because of the warranty, i would not want to give them an excuse not pay IF ever something happens.
I know Man filters, we use them on our equipment at work, they very good filters, like mentioned, i'm not surprised they make them.

As for the oil, it burns my a$$, not the price of the oil but to pay the big price in difference between Mercedes and Jeep.
Mobil at Chrysler 14+
Mobil at Mercedes 11+
Elf 229.51.. (auto part) 8$

I am not sure how it is in Canada, but here all the filters are the Mann variety, regardless of what the box says.

When you open the MB oil filter box, it will be a Mann filter.

I work for a fleet shop so I can't sell to the outside public but you can purchase the filters from Warehouse Services Inc.
