MDS light.

I have an 05 grand hemi and can't find the MDS light on option. From what I've read it sounds like it's supposed to be in the menu options? Or is this a light I need to install when the system activates?

No MDS indication on the 05's . I think that may have started with the 08's ?
Here's 2 ways to install your own in 1 thread ! . http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/m...stall-1376398/

The easiest way to get MDS notification though is to get an aftermarket exhaust .

I have exhaust. Is that what the strange rev is? Sounds like it's revving up and down slightly but the tack holds steady..

The TC does partially unlock when my MDS kicks in. The RPM go up very slightly...

The sound should be the key for when it kicks though.

Yep , and to add to what Caulk04 said ,there's slight derivations of sound too . When you initially go heavy into MDS like you'll probably notice the rpms jump 200+ rpm and a "jake brake" kind of sound , then on a stretch with the Torque converter lock up , the rpm jump is less noticeable and the sound is not as bubbly (for lack of a better word) depending on your exhaust .
I had an open cherry bomb exhaust at first and OTHER people would look at me funny if i drove past and the mds was on .now with the magnaflow and resonator , it's much harder to notice .

This is true ^^^. I am the one that initially came up with this mod. back in 2005. It was originally done on the early (05-07) LX Hemi vehicles. The wiring for the WK's is the same, and it is easier to do on the WK than it was on the LX's. It was the first mod. I did after I bought my WK. Here's the reference to my (magnuman) original thread over on the LX forums. A couple guys have done them differently, but all deliver the same result. Below is a pix of where I mounted mine.

Thank you guys! This is an easy mod to install. At first I thought I may need to change my plugs, wires, and coil packs when I heard that noise. The noise makes sense now though.
