Max tire size on 2"inch lift?

Hi i have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I just bought a 2inch lift kit and i was wondering what the maximum tire size i could put on it without trimming. Also would you recomend going down to 15" rims? Thanks alot

17'' is the smallest wheel you can fit, with 2'' lift, you can get away with a 265/70/17 with minor rubbing (not a big deal and it only happens at full lock)

Or you can run a 255/75 R17 which is a tad taller, but not as wide.

might need a spacer to move the tire away from the upper ball joint bolt, and/or trim it with 265's.

I put some firestone destination MT 265 70 17 as well with a 1.5" spacer i needed to hammer and trim the plastic under the jeep to stop some really annoying rubbing. Before the spacer however, the tire would rub against the ball joint studd and rub slightly on the inside wells. plus handling was compromised.
