Location of crankshaft sensor

I am struggling to find the crankshaft sensor on my 07 jeep grand cherokee diesel. If someone could pin point it for me I would be grateful. A pic even better. This sensor went out and I need to replace it.

Thanks

thanks for the info, but I am not sure what I am seeing. I see it is on the passenger side, but am I looking at the right side of the engine? It says lower front right engine or am I looking at the front - dumb I know but I can't get it in my head

I did find it. I appreciate the help locating it, but I wasn't comfortable installing it. It was very hard to get to. I didn't want to tackle it so for the first time I took it to the dealership for them to change the crankshaft sensor. It was hard for me to do, but I know my limits and this one exceeded what I could do.

I will let you know what it costs me. They will do it Monday. http://www.jeepforum.com/ubb/frown.gif

From what I've read, the part is cheap and not very hard to replace. I know there were a lot of stalling issues related to the crankshaft position sensor in 2007, but I don't think there ever was a recall.
No worries taking it to the dealer! It sure beats getting in over your head, and then having to have it towed to a dealer to be fixed.

Labor for replacing the crankshaft sensor was $200.00. The sensor cost $71.00. The service manger said it was a difficult task. Anyway, that is my experience. Time to move on.
