LIft Advice.

I am new to the Wk platform..I have been lurking and doing some reading up. I would like to do a lift and tire change. I have a 07 Wk limited hemi with QDII. I am debating between do I 2" Rocky Road lift and the OME HD. The obvious difference is the price. I will be looking to go with 265/70/17 on the factory rims. The only offroading will be on the Beach in the OuterBanks NC, and a few firetrails here and there...so mainly looking for some more ground clearance and a better look. They sit low to me stock. But this truck is my DD..so I am not looking to lose any ride quality. For tire choice I am looking at BFG Rugged Terrains. I also tow my boat regular. I know the OME will be great but not trying to spend the extra money if its not going to give me that much more for my situation. The only real reason I mainly considered it is bc of the 61k mileage I figured shocks and struts would not be far out. Thanks ahead of time!

i would go with the rough country 2 inch lift for the $$ and the easy install.. of course everyone would love an ome but like you said the money is killer... i love my rc lift and the recommended tire size is 265/70/17.

If your looking at replacing your shocks and struts I would go ahead and get the OME lift. Its a great lift and many people on here run it.

Yeah for 550 I could do RRO lift with their rear shocks and a set of Bilsteins struts upfront..VS 800 OME. Any thoughts on that? Also any thoughts on the BFG Rugged Terrains for my use? They are good price on Tire Rack 159 each. Main tire use for offroad is summer on the beach..deep sand. Usually airdown to 15lbs. Used to use my Good old 80series FJ landcruiser..but shes up to 200k..still going strong I might add..but if I can have the jeep good for the beach I may finally let her go.

Give it some time and keep your eye open for sales. I was looking at the exact same scenario. Was going to get either RRO 2.25" and bilsteins front/rear (I'd read RRO's shocks aren't the greatest and never read anything bad about bilteins), or the full OME HD. A good deal on the OME HD came along and I was only lookin at around a $200 difference. Notrans said it earlier: if you're looking at replacing your shocks/struts as well as lift - go with the OME.

Yeah also I see the point in that as well..only 200 more bux to "do it right"..were is the best place to find deals on the OME? I checked ebay..ect. did not find anything.

Also with the towing and the HEMI if I went with OME would the HD be the way to go or the MED> I want it to be good towing but not really lose comfort.

It depends on what your towing, but I've heard that the OME HD doesnt sag as much. Hell i towed a 99 camaro on a uhaul trailer with stock suspension. haha

The usual is a 2900 lbs boat and trailer, max would be 4000lbs cartrailer and car.
