Leak near windshield

I just purchased a 2006 WK Limited with 21K miles. Immaculate condition. 3 days after the purchase from the dealer I was driving through very heavy rain and noticed water was leaking through the caps on the trim between the driver side window and windshield. Very strange. I then noticed a small part of the headliner was wet as well. I then noticed the same thing on the passenger side. I'm going to take it back to the dealer since its under warranty but wanted to see if this is a common problem or perhaps the windshield was replaced (which I cannot tell) and maybe wasn't sealed properly. Should I ask the dealer to replace the head liner too since it may be collecting mildew?

I would ask the dealer to replace the headliner and fix the leak. They will probably need to remove your windshield and reseal it. Maybe even replace it.

Your windshield was probably not sealed good when it was built. Don't mention the windshield could have been replaced before you bought it. That would only give them an excuse to not assume responsibility of repairing it.

When he says they can't fix it, ask to speak to the factory representative. Tell them you paid good money for a jeep that still had factory warranty.

Be nice, and I bet they will fix it.

Let us know how you come out.
