Laredo Stock Wheel/Tire Question

Sorry guys, but I'm kind of a noob when it comes to tires. I looking into getting new, larger tires, but I am unsure of what I can get for my 2009 Laredo. I see on http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_wheels.htm that I have the 17" "Sextant 17" x 7.5" Rims".

I see a lot of guys in the tire/wheel picture combo sticky post that have the "Orbitek 17" x 7.5"" that's found on the 2005-2007 Laredo's.

This may be a stupid question, but can tires that fit on the 2005-2007 wheels fit on the 2008-2010 wheels. Seeing that they are both 17" x 7.5", I would think the answer would be yes.

Furthermore, I was wondering what was the largest tire A/T I could fit on the stock Laredo tire.

I see a lot of guys are riding on 265/70R17 or a 265/75R17. I was wondering if I would need a 1.5" spacer for these tires.

But also, would 285/70 or 75 R17 which are 33" or 34" fit with no lift? I would assume that these would be too big for stock height.

I think even 265/70R17 is too big to fit without a lift. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought so...
Once I install the OME HD lift I think I want 265/70/17, I'm also wondering if I'd need spacers to run this size.

I want to say a 265/70/17 will fit without a lift but you have to trim the uca bolt and fold the pinch weld, might even need a spacer.

Q: What is the biggest tire you can fit without a lift?

A: Without any trimming or bolt cutting, 255/65/17, but you may have some rubbing at full lock(steering wheel turned all the way in one direction) with some tires depending on tread depth and design. The largest 18" tire you can add on the stock 18" rim without a lift is a 265/65-18.. The more aggressive looking the tread, the less clearance you will have. If you are unsure whether a tire will fit, go to a local tire chain(Big-O, Les Schwab, America's/Discount Tire Co, etc) and have them test fit that tire on both front wheels. You can then check the bolt for the Upper Control Arm(UCA), just above and to the inboard side of the front tire. Turn the steering wheel to full lock in each direction and check for the tire rubbing against the wheel well on the edges of the tire

I just installed 255/70/17 general grabbers at2's and they fit by a hair...had the tire shop cut the bolt to be safe. This is a 31.1 inch tire. Looks great..its on my profile pic if u wish to see..

I have 265/70 R17"s on 2008 MOABS on my 2008 WK. No lift, but I do have 1 inch BORA spacers.

Does anyone know if Sextant Wheels with 275 75R17 tires might fit a 2006 WK jeep that currently has Ronin II wheels with 265 65R17 tires? Do I need spacers/adapters?
