Key Cost
My granddaughter lost a key to my daughter's patriot. Dealer quoted her $200 for a new key including programming.
That's highway robbery. Anyone know a way around that?

I maybe wrong, but I thought I remember reading that some members got keys from ebay and then programmed them for the vehicle, saved some dough that way...still wasn't cheap though.

Weren't the old days easy. You could just stop in any hardware and for a dollar you had a key. I suspect the new keys have reduced theft but that is a hefty cost to pay for the protection when you misplace a key.
Where I live we still leave the keys in the vehicle at night. |
