Jk wheels on my 05 WK

Alright I have been searching forever about what fits on my 2005 wk limited hemi jeep. All I see is how running bigger tires w the two inch lift will require spacers.

My local mechanic said you can run 265 70 17 with no spacers. Everyone on here seems to say you cannot.

Also Will a set of jk wheels solve the problem as I read the back spacing is better for clearing the upper ballpoint stud???

No. JK wheels will need at least .25'' spacers in the front to clear the brake calipers. Only on very early 2005 and 06's did the JK wheels fit fine without spacers. You can always grind the brake caliper down and cut the bolt to clear the tires fine. I'd just get a set of aftermarket wheels or run wheel spacers. I've had wheel spacers for 2K miles now...not a problem.

Any other options? Sounds like the jk wheels don't fix the problem

Just got some JK rims with 265/70/17 tyres for my WK last week. Needed 6mm (1/4 ") spacers, otherwise all good.

Cheers, Craig

I just noticed you have an 07. Wil my 05 be different. Is the .25 inch spacer needed to clear the brake caliper or the bolt

I have also seen people shave down the calliper a bit with a file to clear the JK rims and not use a spacer.
If you do this, be careful and only shave off what you need.
