So, I have finally decided to make a build thread. I have done quite a few things already that I have wanted to, but this will mostly be previous mods. I will however be adding more mods over time. I'm working with a military budget so this will most likely be a slower build than most. First things first! A little background on the good ole' Jeep (Abby). I purchased her back in Novemeber of 2011 for a pretty good price. Fully loaded with anything you could think of PLUS the 5.7L HEMI! Oh, and some 20" chrome rims :nono: You will see a couple pictures of those so prepare yourselves. I didn't really do to much to Abby over the next year besides regular maintenance. Now the fun part on her name "Abby". My girlfriend is always joking around with me saying I have another girlfriend named Abby and she says I spend more time with my Jeep than I do her. Soooo one day I thought why not just call the Jeep Abby?? Adds a little fun in the house when I tell her I'm going to go spend time with Abby haha :2thumbsup: I went on leave December of last year and my buddy had convinced me to lift the Jeep and put some bigger tires on her. I found this forum on google, did some research on lifts, and ended up going with a Rough Country 2" spacer lift, MB TKO wheels, and 265/70r17 Hankook Dynapro ATM tires. I only have 2 pictures of her stock.
I had started to hear more and more about Plasti-Dip and seen how easy the process was. One weekend I got bored and decided to give it a go. I used to have a lot more pictures but they got lost somewhere. I ended up Dipping my emblems, grill, and side molding.
I ended up ditching the REC unit from the factory and replaced it with a Pioneer double din. It was a really nice upgrade and I can now play music from my iPhone and much more! I also installed a pair of 12" kicker subs in an enclosed box along with a 1,000 amp. (I have since taken all this out now due to not using it anymore)

I have the REN unit in my wife's GC and she's wanting to be able to use bluetooth for phone calls and such, did this unit have that ability and could you still use the backup camera?
Had a trip planned to a National forest down here in Florida to do some offroading so I finally thought it was time to purchase a Rola rack and also a full set spare and wheel. Ordered the Rola rack off Amazon and had it in 3 days  a couple days later I received my spare tire and I was good to go! Quick question. If I use photobucket am I able to reduce the size of my pictures so I can upload them without exceeding the size limit?
And finally most recently I decided I should go ahead and perform the Pinch Weld Mod (suffered a little damage along the way) as I will be moving up to a 6" Modified Superlift and some 35's!!!
Thanks! It's been a fun process and money pit but well worth it! The wait on the lift is killing me but I know it will be worth it in the end, how is the Superlift doing for you??
Nice rig man! Also i'd like to personally thank you for saving this WK from the gaudy chrome 20's, and bringing it back to it's natural habitat:laugh: In my area (Philly suburb) I see quite a few WK's with ridiculous rims (Jeeps in general), one WK in Camden had spinners....Yes....Spinners.. It's amazing how with a few mods you made that thing do a 180 and it looks great now!
Thank you! I couldn't stand those rims that were on it at all. But Spinners on a Jeep? I feel bad for that poor thing. I have quite a few mods planned in my head that I want to do but those will be after the new lift and when time is more easy to come by! Glad I was able to save atleast 1 Jeep from going to the chrome side!
Thanks Valpacer!! I plan on borrowing your drawer idea for the cargo area here soon
I put it back on. I cut down the section of the liner where it sticks out and heated it up then folded it over and smoothed it out. Finished it off with a self tapping screw on each side of the Pinch weld and I was good to go. I don't have any pictures of it after the liner was put back on but I can take some

It does have the ability to make calls over Bluetooth with the IPhone, I'm not sure what other phones it is compatible with though. As far as the back-up camera I am not 100% sure. IIRC it does have the option to but I don't personally have a back-up camera on my Jeep.
JeepN4KC, it's one less eye sore on the roads. She was screaming for help when I seen her on the car lot. Had to do the right thing lol. So far my build plans are waiting for my new lift to arrive and then get it installed along with some 35's. I have been searching Craigslist for some time now and have found quite a few sets that still have good tread and a good price. Storage right now is a pain so I may have to wait till after the lift is installed to get them. After that I will be installing a CB and then I want to try and create my own cargo area drawer setup similar to Valpacer's. And then of course I will be adding some armour for the more difficult trails around here  After that it will be little things here and there and hopefully a Matrix!
They don't look the best I gotta redo them here soon but here is how they look as of now. I will need to flatten the pinch weld more as I won't be able to clear 35's once I have them on. I have 265/70's on it now and they barely miss the liner on full lock but it is enough for now
Thanks! I like how the red turned out with it. Something a little different from everyone else. The hardest part with red plasti dip is finding it unless you order it online haha.
Trust me, I can't wait to see the lift either. Getting excited knowing its one day closer everyday!
Not bad at all for 35" tires. My only concern with those is the tread of the bottom 2. Great price for them and isn't to far of a drive so may have to go take a look at them.
If I find some time today I will do some research and see if I can find the exact weight. I'm also thinking they will be on the heavy side along with toyo mts, and nitto's at 80lbs+
