Oh man,

Sorry to hear that. I hope all goes well with the repairs and they don't find anything else wrong. We all know how much these jeeps mean to their owners.

Also,
I was about to ask if you picked up the deer and got a kill-tag for it. Figured might as well get some meat out of the accident......... but then I saw the pictures...... There is no salvaging meat from that...... holy s*** that deer took one hell of a beating.

Your temp gauge issue could be air in the system.

Imagine if you didn't have your lift on -- 3" can make a big difference in those situations!

Not to disrespect the situation, but if you do have to do something with the WK, I'd be interested in the rails, if not some of the other accessories so definitely take them off!

Did they bleed the air from the coolant system when they rigged the radiator? If not then it could overheat from air being trapped in the system.

I think you guys are right about air in the system.
Once they get the CRD radiator in it I assume they will take care of it.
I should have it back end of next week to find out!

Thanks guys

I picked up my Jeep today, The found more things messed up bringing total to about $6,500.00, it looks good only problem is it looks like they either used a new Hemi radiator or the temporary one I used to get me home.
I questioned them on it, they told me its new and its the one they were sent. He said he will look into it, but now Im not sure I trust him.
The Hemi version has neck on it the CRD did not. I don't know what else is different but it seems like if they used a different one it must be for a reason?
Does anyone know what the difference are between the Hemi and CRD radiators?

Thanks

I would ask for the part # and do some research....and get your insurance company involved as well. Tell them that you are not sure about the radiator.

Glad to see you got it fixed! Not to glad to see the price went up. I agree with Scootr29. Either ask then or check for the part # and do a quick search to see what the stock radiator number is

Quick follow up...talked with the parts guy at Big O Dodge Jeep here in Greenville, SC and he verified that the radiators have different OEM part numbers and prices

Diesel = 55116858AA = $415

Hemi = 55116842AB = $354

They need to put in the diesel radiator..... There may have been some penny pinching if you know what I mean....

Edit...I did find numerous Jeep online part houses that are selling the OEM diesel radiator for less than $300...no excuses for them not to get the right radiator.

Radiator Update- I got the correct radiator all is good now.
Interesting I use to about 17-18 mpg then for last six months I was getting about 16-17 mpg, now after I had my jeep fixed after encounter (about a week) and Im getting about 19-20.
They replaced lower air dam even tho I told them I have it stored, I don't think that would make that much difference. Maybe something was disconnected and was fixed with everything else?
any thoughts??

Thanks for help guys

Air dam would improve air flow so certainly could improve your mpg.

Yes, I'm sure it would improve some with the air dam but it was off when it dropped 1-2 mpg.
