ipod cable connector in glove box.....

Hi again everyone.
My 2008 GC Limited came with the ipod cable in the glove box.
I went to try it today and it seems that the plug in the glove box is some how attached to the glove box. And it's in a place where I can't wiggle the cable to it.
Has anyone else had this problem?
- Dave

Dave, do you have Mygig with navigation?

I have Mygig with uconnect, but no navigation.
This is very odd........I just got to the plug in the glovebox, and it won't plug into the cable. The cable is definitely an ipod cable because it plugs into my ipod.
I'm wondering if this plug I'm seeing is something else and maybe I don't have it.
But then again, why would they have given me the other cable?
Worst case scenario, I guess I could plug it into the front with the aux. cord.
I also have a USB port in the front I think. I wonder if that would work with my ipod cord too?
Very confusing! lol

Did you pull the little cap off the cable in the glove box ? They have it on the cable to protect the pins in the end of it.Awkward to get out cap with my big hands.Once the cap was off the I-pod cable pluged right in and I-pod worked great.

There didn't appear to be a cap on it, but there was a red insert around the pins that I popped off, but it still won't match up with the plug that's in the glove box.
I just called the dealer and they said that the plug in the glove box can only be for the ipod and nothing else.
I might have to stop at the dealer next week when I get time.
This is really strange to me!
The only other thing that crossed my mind is I wonder if the Jeep cable and Chrysler cables are different and maybe they gave me the wrong cable.

I may have made some progress here.
I've just found out that there are 2 different cables.
One plugs right into the plug in your glove box. The other (which is the one I have) plugs in behind the kick panel and runs up into your glove box.
