Apparently Chrysler/Mopar are developing a factory ipod integration kit for factory Chrysler radios, including the Nav and non-nav radios in the Commander:

The announcement is here:

http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2006...8chrysler.html

Some googling around reveals this:

http://www.wyckoffchryslerparts.com/moipinkit.html

The kit in the 2nd link would presumably work in the Commander if the radio model is one of RAZ, RBP, RBQ, RAH and RBK.

I haven't taken delivery of my Commander yet -- is the nav radio one of the above?

There isn't a Commander specific kit yet.

I just put the kit in my Liberty this weekend. It's not out for the Commander or new Grand Cherokee yet. They use a different databus that isnt' supported, yet.

I have a ton of questions I hope you don't mind answering, I emailed Wycoff but did not get any good answers.

What headunit do you have in your Liberty?
Where did you end up putting the iPod?
What is diplayed on the head unit?
Did you have make any special play lists? Some iPod adapters only allow 5 or 6 playlist.
How do you control the unit, which buttons?
Any mention in the manual about the RBQ?

Thanks a TON! I have a RBQ, upgrade my RAZ, and as soon as I did I discovered no one made an ipod adapter for the RBQ. If I had the cash I would upgrade to the RB1 Navigation unit, but I do not have $700-1300 around. I know this states it will work with RBQ, but I am hoping for some more info before blindly buying. Thanks again.

Yesterday I ordered two kits from Wycoff for each of my Jeeps. It should fit my TJ (RBQ) and it probably works on my KJ (RBP).

I'll report back if they both work as I should have them to install this weekend, plus with details.

I'm really excited as I'm tired of burning CD's.

Here are instructions for the TJ. The install on the KJ looks easier.

Awesome! I read your other response and look foward to seeing your results. I may have to buy the extension cable so I can mount the iPod in my center console.
I have wanted a mp3 harddrive system (I looked at Phatnoise, and the system Best Buy has) in my truck for years, but my RBQ has not been supported by anything.
