Hood latch

My 06 Commander hood won't latch I broke the release handle and replaced handle and cable... now the hood don't latch so I replaced the latch (even through I don't think its bad) still don't latch.. I'm lost there is only 3 components here hood, latch, and cable... anybody have any ideas.. Thanks for your time

Usually the latch on the chassis and the catch on the hood can be adjusted to make them meet up properly.

There are, or should be, adjustable rubber stoppers on both sides of the hood, near the front corners. They thread up and down, and if those are too tall, you have to slam the hell out of the hood. If they're too short, it rattles. You might play with those, and make sure you're slamming the hood from the center, not from one side, or it can come down twisted and fail to engage the lock.
