ho head swap

Anyone tried swapping heads from the newer 4.7 ho heads and intake to the older 4.7? I know the newer motor makes more HP just wondering if this would be feasible.

Newer 4.7 has 16 spark plugs so you would have to sort that out.

Maybe get some cams from a WJ 4.7 HO? The WJ 4.7 HO made 265 hp vs our 235 in the WK. I've also heard chatter that the gen 2 4.7L intake manifold will fit the gen 1 motor. You would have to add a spacer/adapter to get the throttle body to fit being its a different bolt pattern.

Thanks for the replies, didn't know the newer 4.7 had 16 plugs. I could probably figure out the throttle body situation. Was asking because I know of a totaled wk2 ( smashed rear end).

Wk2 has either the 3.6 v6 or the 5.7 v8. No more 4.7 after 2009.

Wow I guess I really don't know much about the wk2. To be honest I'm still learning about my wk, haha. Just trying to milk some cheap horses out of this 4.7.

tuner, exhaust- muffler and hi-flow cat, intake, throttle body, powerwire, and maybe a shift kit... probably the best youre going to do till you start swapping cams/heads/manifolds.

Ya I've got intake and exhaust and tuner. Going to pick up another throttle body and have some fun with my grinder. This may be a stupid question but what do you mean by power wire? Haven't found much aftermarket for this engine.
