Hitch/ spare tire mod

I'm gettin 265/70/17s put on today and gettin a spare in a few weeks. Will it fit in the spare tire spot if I don't have a trailer hitch?

I believe it will be tight. You might even need to air it down some. worst thing possible is you get a flat put new tire on and have enough air to drive to a pump. or carry one on you.

Around 30" diameter. I had to cut the back of the hitch, plus air down to fit a 32"

You can also use carriage bolts to replace the original bolts that hold the hitch in, this will give it an even more low profile fit

It's really not a big deal to cut the hitch and the bolts

What tool should you use to do this? I'm thinking an angle grinder would work better than a cut off tool or reciprocating sawzall?
