Whats probably happening is that when you go up the hill the cruise adds throttle to maintain speed and when you start to go down hill the cruise releases the throttle and your engine speed drops. Modern transmissions tend to unlock electronically based on engine load in order to save fuel. That could be a contributing factor in the drop in engine speed as well. I'm sure its nothing to worry about.

I'll test mine at 60 for you just to see if mine dose it as well.

Hi Folks
My 07 has it and it will drop the from 5 gear to 4th to maintain the speed I set it at Ė work great but sometimes, I guess I would rather coast but with cruise control that is not an option. You can expect the engine to jump around with crusie control - it add power and takes it away.
