You need to just break them (drill them out). They're not re-usable. You may be able to get re-usable push pin style replacements at the LAP or a plastic rivit gun from Harbor Freight.

Can you drive around without that plastic piece on? Or what do people usually do? Just order new ones and put em in whenever?

+1 on the Harbor Frieght tool, it comes with a variety of rivets and it's a fraction of the price!

Like Buda said - the rivets aren't reusable but the plastic rivet gun w/ various size rivets from Harbor Frieght is the way to go. The two plastic pushpins if you're careful on removal can be reused.

Oh, and you can run without the wheel wells in.

okay good because I broke every rivet, hahah. But i finished the pinch weld. Ended up using a wrench to bend the metal over instead of beating it with a hammer. I wish I had known this before doing the drivers side because it didn't come out as good but maybe I can go back in fiddle with it. Glad I got it done though

It comes with a size that will work. They also have the refill rivets for it too.
