Has anyone used other Power steering fluid brand?

I want to know if anyone has ever used another type of power steering fluid brand other than the recommended Mopar hydraulic power steering, without any issues.

I'm asking this because they say if you don't use the recommended fluid the steering system is liable to have problems. But I've seen shops use other types of powersteering fluids in Jeeps especially ours and they don't seem to have any issues, I've been seeing this for a while.

on a 5.7L? No. others, I can't say.

in general, what you have is mechanics saying "Yeah, I put olive oil in and I didn't see any problems!" .. but the customer is long gone when the problems set in. Went thru this with ATF+3 and ATF+4, and the SpiffyLube "universal" additive.

Not worth the hassle.

the engine doesn't matter .. it is what power steering unit you have.

you can use the cheep clear power fluid "approved" by jeep without any issues.

If it's not leaking .. the purple stuff from napa works great in both cold and hot weather, but it cost more $$.

Cheep wize ... any clear jeep approved fluid. It says right on the bottle.

ATF fuild is NOT approved, and it is just used for like some emergency issue. DO NOT put that in as a full time replacement, that is just a bad idea.
