Mileage report

I took my first short trip using since my DPF delete. Drove 276 miles, mostly freeway, about 20 miles in town. I drove 65-72 on the freeway depending on speed zones and traffic. Used my cruise control. Did not do anything unusal to improve mileage...just drove as usual.

Upon returning, I check mileage using careful manual calculation. 25.27 MPG.
The EIC was showing 22 & 23 all day.

if your DPF is "deleted" then you just need a tune that removes the regeneration cycle altogether. Urea is only required for DPF equipped diesels that were made to use it. Neither my CRD nor my 09 VW TDI use Urea in a regen.

I went back to my Eco tune after driving about 1500 miles on the Hot tune. I like the snap of the hot tune but in NOrush-hour traffic I was losing MPG because I couldn't keep it in higher gears. w/Eco I almost never have to rev above 2K RPM but w/Hot it always wants to run up to 3K before upshifting.

I still have my DPF intact.

Not yet. The OBD flash tool will not work on the new diesels. Tuners need the ecm from the vehicle to flash and then return to the customer. We have not got into this approach yet as it requires a large investment in hardware. GDE

Hey fishinbama (fellow TDI owner here....) at the risk of committing a hijack, I'd suggest you check out http://forums.tdiclub.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13 for specifics about a TDI tune

BTW Keith is on that forum, as well - it's how I first found out about GDE, before I bought my WK CRD

Hi GDE,

Im in OZ and have one of Murchison Products full 3" ss systems on my 07 WK which Id expect has the DPF delet as theres a straight pipe there.

Question is I've had your tune for several years now, and I'm very happy with it. You only had the eco tune available then(I think), and I was wondering if I need to get a dpf delete upgrade and does the hot tune come standard now as it wasnt an option when i got mine?

As I said another happy customer thats for sure

Hey, The DPF Delete Tune is an "extra". It is an additional $100. It will work with both your Eco-Tune and/or Hot-Tune.

You do not need a DPF delete because you do not have DPF....lucky

hey scootr29, Im not sure about this but wont the ECM try to do a regen on the DPF even though its not there?

I think your talking about the actual DPF delete pipe, I'm asking GDE if my tune would have the DPF delete upgrade as I've had my Eco tune for a few years now and Im not sure there was a delete upgrade tune then. They were only just developing the "hot" tune I think, but i could easily be wrong

I also have Murchison Products 3" stainless exhaust and GDE Tune.
After checking with Stu (Murchison Products), he only sells the Eco tune.
He won't sell the Hot tune.

Very happy with my set up.

Cheers, Craig

No..your Jeep's ECM does not have regen programmed in from the factory. So you would have no need to purchase the "DPF delete" option from GDE.

Australia, UK etc Grand Cherokees did not have DPFs.
