GDE Tune and MPG

Received my GDE tune on Monday and installed. Drove about 250 miles today. 80% on Freeway and 20% around town. 24,500 miles on spedo. At 60 MPH and A/C off was showing 27.2 MPG. But I had to turn on the A/C and sped up to 70/75. For the whole trip showed: Pen and paper 25.52. On board computer showing 25.2 MPG. At $4.37 a Gallon I want all I can get. I also went to get my smog check today, and passed with no questions asked, except were did I find it and that they loved it!

Gde tune install

TurboDiesel:
I had all of the issues that you are reporting. I received mine last Saturday, of a three day holiday, so could not get a hold of GDE. I think the tune is good, but the directions #%@!.

# 10 on directions says to "Read ECU file".
BEFORE that you need to ID the ECU FIRST. Then READ the ECU.

When I did get the stock tune on the unit and tried to save it, it would not work. I was running Firefox. Signed out and started Internet Explorer. Can't say if this helped, but I could find the file now. My computer had saved it as a winamp music file.

Also the little window that opens when downloading covers up the Flash Scan Console screen. Left click on the pop up window, hold the button down, and move it. You can't see that it really is working. Now you can read the Console. Now just follow the Console directions.

When loading the Console with the GDE Tune the same thing happened. But now I know to move the loading window off of the Console screen.

I hope this helps you! It will be worth it when you get it all working.

Just got off the phone with Keith
turns out when the window pops up there isnt a dedicated file name so u just have to make your own file name
save the file
then send it to him

guess it was a dumb mistake on my part for not thinking of that, i was trying to get something with an ORI extension

anyways, my tune should be revised and back to me shortly
cant wait!!!

especially with the time difference

truck is insane now, so peppy

2 things tho
1] sounds much different than before
2] my red alarm light is on for some reason, but still drives fine
