Future 2008 GC crd owner

Hello all, new member here.
I will be buying a GC in the near future, and wish to thank all the contributors of my searches.
Excellent forum you have here.
I will be looking for a 2008(preferred year by some), loaded with all the bells and whistles.
Being familiar with and owning diesels for the past 36 yrs, I ain't skeerd.
If I can find one with all the mods as touched on in the forum, it will be gravy.
If not, Vendors here I come.

I will be asking ?'s as I go, so please be patient with both my internet and typing skills.
Thank you for being here and helping in my quest.

Good luck! I bought my CRD 10 months ago, and the GDE Tune was the first thing I bought for it!

I would take a higher mileage FL WK over lower mileage Northern WK. This trucks rust.

I have no rust but I also live in SC....but Jeep's will rust and this one is no different. I would say underneath...especially suspension bolts.

Oh ya, she will rust. Surprisingly, the only body panel issue I have is the paint flaking off around the front wheels. It will just chip off with clean metal showing. I just it quick with some good primer, no other rust on painted body panels. The underside is totally different, there is rust all over. Some here have gone and cleaned it up and got some rust preventative paint on it. Most underside bolts, if I can get to the exposed threads with a wire brush will come out nicely. I have only broken one. I just put lots of lube on them then coat any exposed part with LPS 3. Working good so far.
