Fuel Pump - Warm Start Problems - 2005 GC
2005 GC 4.7 155k miles
- Cold Start (sitting overnight) is good
- Hot Start (quick stop at 7-11, start back up) is good
- Warm Start (sitting an hour or more) not good
Symptoms include longer cranking period, which is shortened by pressing down on the gas pedal. Also, there is a gas odor coming in through the vents when this occurs.
I've had this issue for quite a while, and they only thing not replaced by now has been the fuel pump. The fuel pressure was fine when checked.
I was doing some reading last night on here, and I came across some fellow members with the same issues, but they had '01 & '02 models with the 4.7. Apparently, there were issues with the O-ring seal, and/or Internal Check Valve (allowing fuel to drain back to tank).
Wanted to see if anyone else with '05-'10 with the 4.7 had this issue, and if the fuel pump replacement solved the problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
