Front driveshaft cv boot

The dealer said my front driveshaft cv boot was torn and said the only way to fix it is with a whole new front driveshaft.

However, with the power of Google, I have located the following:
* Crown Brand Front Drive Shaft CV Joint Repair Kit (Manufacturer Part No: 528534RRK) for $119.97 from Summit Racing
* New Driveshaft CV Joint Front Jeep Grand Cherokee Dodge Dakota Durango Commander - unknown brand from "Car Parts Wholesale" on ebay for $39.83
* DormanŽ - Propeller Shaft CV Joint Kit - CARiD item 16855464 - $99.36
* Replacement brand part REPD545001 "Replacement Driveshaft CV Joint - Front" $44.47 (the picture is the same as the unknown brand on ebay, so the ebay one is probably "Replacement" brand)

I am wondering if there is any reason not to be the $40 one from ebay and save $500 from the dealer replacing the entire driveshaft? Or if the Replacement brand is no good, perhaps the Dorman or the Crown?

Thoughts?

I would go with the Dorman unit, have used two of their CV kits and was happy with the quality.

The eBay kit is unknown and for that reason I would avoid it.

Thank you. The Dorman has one lonely review on the site I was considering buying from and they said it worked well except the bolts did not fit and they ended up using their old bolts.

You can reuse your factory bolts, I did. It's not a big deal. The ones in the kit did fit my CRD driveshaft. I ordered from Amazon.

Good call on Amazon. $77.48 there for the same part number - and free 2nd day prime shipping. Ordering that one. Thank you!

I believe you need the clamp/crimp tool also.
