Front Differential Rebuild Options?

I have a 2008 CRD with QD2 232,000 miles. I recently had the rear differential rebuilt due to some shudder and whine issues and once the rear was completed, I realized it was time for the front as well. Well not so quick. So it seems no one makes an aftermarket 3.73 ring and pinion. The best I have been able to find through Mopar for 5135661-AD is around $1700.00. New Nitro 4.10 gears are only $300 unfortunately they do not make a 3.73 for the front. Are there any other options that I have not thought about besides trying to source a used differential? Thank you all for your help.

It seems odd to me that your differential would need a rebuild so early in its life. If I might ask, what makes you think it needs one?

I have slack in the driveline and a shudder accelerating. The same slack and shudder was present in the rear before the rebuild. Also at the last service there was substantial metal in the diff. With the rear end so quiet now the whine in the front is really noticeable.

Could be many things such as worn out drive shafts, transfer case, transmission etc. With that many miles i'd look for a low mile used complete front diff if it is in fact your diff. I wouldn't rebuild your existing unit with that many miles.

I found a used front diff with 65K miles off a 2010 from California. Should have it in a week or so. This was a much cheaper option and hopefully solves the problem. I will have the drivetrain shop check it out before it gets installed. Previously I had the front driveshaft rebuilt and the cv axles replaced.

Good deal that looks to be the average price from what I see online.

Did it fix the issues?

The hurricane messed up shipping. Hopefully I will be able to get it installed next week.
